The Vinyl Institute Welcomes New President Richard Doyle

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 11, 2011 – The Vinyl Institute (VI) is pleased to welcome Richard M. Doyle as its new President and Chief Executive Officer effective Oct. 24, 2011.  Mr. Doyle will provide strategic direction, engage the full vinyl value chain, and promote the use and benefits of vinyl products.  His responsibilities also include coordinating the VI agenda with relevant vinyl industry organizations to maximize impact and value of the VI.

Vinyl Institute Chair BJ Hebert noted, “Doyle’s expertise in association leadership, industry experience and strong technical knowledge mesh with the dynamic and challenging needs of the Vinyl Institute.  Mr. Doyle’s leadership will help move the VI to the next level, and, ultimately, contribute to the growth of the vinyl industry.”

Doyle brings to the VI extensive experience in legislative and regulatory advocacy as well as industry and community relations.  With nearly 20 years experience serving the American Chemistry Council (ACC), Doyle has extensive experience in representing the chemical industry.  Doyle’s efforts at ACC included leading the internationally recognized Responsible Care® initiative, an award winning chemical health, safety and environmental performance improvement initiative.  While at ACC, Doyle also formed many state chemical associations and managed the Federation of State Chemical Councils.  Further, drawing on his background at the American Trucking Association, Doyle directed ACC’s overall chemical distribution advocacy efforts at the international, federal and state levels.

Most recently, Doyle served as Senior Vice President at K-Global Strategies, Inc. where he consulted clients, including trade associations, on public affairs, including strategic communications, coalition building, and grassroots, all with the goal of optimizing return on their investment.  Prior to joining K-Global, Doyle served for eight years as President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Sleep Products Association (ISPA), transforming the association into a highly respected and effective voice for the “sleep solutions” industry.

Founded in 1982, The Vinyl Institute is a U.S. independent trade association representing the leading manufacturers of vinyl, vinyl chloride monomer, vinyl additives and modifiers and vinyl packaging materials.  The VI is located at 1737 King Street, Suite 390, Alexandria, VA  22314.
